Loft conversion
This was a job no one else was willing to do -- renovating a horrid DIY attic in a top floor flat of a tenement building in Edinburgh city. From rubbish removal to new loft ladder install the attic was transformed into a beautiful, clean loft space usable as a small yoga studio, storage area, or emergency guest room (or all three). The price was at the higher end of reasonable due to the quirks of the job itself, and it was finished at the quoted price and on time due to the deep bench of talented workmen (and some women) that Peter relies on -- if one can't show, he'll get another in. House refurbishment
Upon arriving to provide a quote Peter was very friendly and keen to take on as much of the work as we needed. He was very thorough and provided incredibly reasonable quotes for all work involved.By comparison, The kitchen fitter was incredibly resourceful and was able to get on with work and even correct mistakes we had made in the planning. The Kitchen was fitted beautifully and the plastering work was very well done, as was the laminate flooring. Overall the work was to a very high standard and at a very good price so I would definitely recommend Alpha. Daniel Plunkett
Kitchen remodelling
This is the second major project that I have used Alpha Business Contractors for. It involved working from a building warrant to remodel a kitchen and living room and install a new wall and doors. The work included plumbing, electrical, kitchen and flooring installation, tiling, and plastering among other things. The quality of the work was excellent, and Peter was helpful as always in helping me procure the right materials and work around delays due to supplies arriving late. I was very pleased with the job done by Alpha Business Contractors to renovate the two bathrooms in my flat. Peter was involved early on to provide measurements and advice on ordering materials and was always happy to answer questions. Peter and his crew completely stripped the existing bathrooms and fixed any existing issues, such as rotted boards, tiled the entire bathroom, and installed new showers, toilets, and vanities. Work starting with quotation, accurate appraisal of needed refurbishing and estimate of time scale and meeting all deadlines and customers expectations. High quality of materials and labor performed added great value to the refurbished property on the real estate market. The most profitable balance for quality versus price available on the construction market. I highly recommend them as a beneficiary customer .
Customer great experience and achievement
The company is customer oriented. They offered prompt quotation and suggested architectural suggestion for complete house renovation, including basement cellar conversion and loft conversion. The interior design works (painting, installation of ceramic wall and floor tiles, false ceilings, underfloor heating, partitions remodeling, concrete fence renovation) were carried out according to the contractual terms and at a high technical quality. We recommend other clients to use the services of Alpha Business Contractors to have safety works and best quality at a good price.
Home renovation
I am afraid I am not very good at writing reviews, however, I am very good at writing lists so I have placed below the main points that I have benefited from by contracting with this company. I would say to anyone reading this it is by no means an exhaustive list this company was a dream to work with. 1) Tradespeople that turn up every day, on time and then work well into the evening. 2) People who are interested and passionate in their work 3) Attention to detail 4) Talented tradespeople who produce really beautiful work 5) Tradespeople that find solutions to problems and who see potential issues before they arise 6) Quick response to e-mails 7) Friendly staff 8) Tradespeople that tidy up at the end of each day !! 9)Well priced work We will use Alpha Business again and would recommend them. Alpha BC Disgrace, continued.
You see Peter takes no responsibility for any of the problems these sub contracted workers cause. He didnt even know the two site managers that worked on our property. It doesnt matter how many times you stress to him that these people are representing ALPHA BC, these people were sent to work on our property by him, he just doesnt get it. He has a defensive attitude, accepts no responsibility and deflects all problems as if he isnt involved in the slightest. It is an abomination that Peter Vanicek and ALPHA BC continue to trade at all. Obviously I am taking these issues to the highest level and I will not stop until Peter pays me the money he owes me. Suffice to say, dont employ this man. Dont go anywhere near him. He is a disaster. He is a disgrace.
Alpha Bc disgrace continued.
We spent over three months in various hotels. We spent thousands on that accommodation. 5 months later we still dont have a hot shower. Alpha bc is not a company, it is one man with the phone numbers of eastern european workers. None of whom spoke any English, all were deficient in the requisite skills you would expect, at least two were not registered to work in the U.K, they were all bad mannered and unhelpful. The first site manager was sacked after five weeks of inactivity. Peter called him a gangster. The second was a Romanian person with NOT ONE word of English. Peter was of the option this man had "mental health issues". We had to stand over these workers every second of every day to make sure they caused no further issues. Communicating with people who had zero English on such delicate matters was as anxiety spiking as you can possibly imagine.
disgraceful
Employing Peter Vanicek and Alpha BC was one of the worst mistakes of our lives. As I write this, emergency plumbers are fixing the catastrophe of a job ALPHA BC did, at great expense to ourselves. Leaking pipes from our bathroom are threatening to cause the downstairs neighbours ceiling to collapse. Peter is in hiding, he wont answer my calls or my emails. He has completely shirked all responsibility. Dont be fooled by the promises he makes on his website, this man is a con artist, a crook and a charlatan. He isnt in any union. The list of crimes ALPHA BC committed against our property are too long to list here. They include cutting our sky TV cable for some unknown reason, a disastrous tiling job where dangerous edges were not completed properly. Door frames cobbled together with the wrong wood, skirting boards badly fitted. We have had to re seal the bath. I could go on and on. Peter told us the job would be finished in 12 daysand we would maybe be out of our flat for a night or two
Home renovation
We have been very impressed with the excellent quality of the work done by the tradespeople at Alpha Business Contractors. They have worked extremely hard to finish the work on time as estimated, working tirelessly until well into the evening. They are very pleasant and well mannered people. Left us with no heating and a toilet flushed with a bucket.
We had a very bad experience with this company. Peter clearly didn't understand the job (despite us providing manufacturers info for the stuff we wanted installed) and underquoted substantially. He also couldn't get a plumber, which is a major problem for a bathroom installation. Instead of resolving the problems he simply stopped paying the fitters half way through the job, leaving us with no heating and a toilet that required flushing with buckets of water.
